    Alexis and Custody Update

    Hello All,

As you most likely know, I am applying for custody of my granddaughter.  It has been an experience I will never forget.  I finally obtained "party to the proceedings" status, after the CAS worker had originally responded to my general affidavit to refute my request.  He showed up at court and told me that he had changed his mind and was going to allow and request the judge to allow me to obtain the status.

She is growing pretty quickly.  She is starting to crawl and shows a great interest in music and toys like rattles and puzzles(usually end up in her mouth... lol) I now have visits with her every wednesday. I very much look forward and enjoy the time I spend with her.  I sing and talk and read and play with her.  The times that John is with me, I try to remain in the background somewhat so that he can spend the precious time he does have with her.  When he is not there, she I think looks for him.  Usually she is in a good mood but when she is having a tough time, I most definitely attempt to conjole her and do the things that hel her to settle. Hopefully soon, I will have custody of her and she can become a part of this family, which I think would be of importance to her as she gets older.

I have a great concern that the cas is not fulfilling their duty to ensure a nurturing and stimulating environment for her.  They still insist that she be fed a warmed bottle and be burped at almost 10 months. Several times she has showed up with dirty undershirt diapered area and they underplay it.  The rash that was prominent on her face a few months ago, has not shown up since I had spoken to the workers about it.  I feel at this point they must have taken her to reassess her rash since I had mentioned it.
    GOD BLESS

    Heather

Your granddaughter is very beautiful....do you have custody of her yet as I notice this blog is from May 20th last year.  I sure hope so......family need family.  I found my way here through updated spaces and I too am a social worker...but do not work with Child and Family services  I specialize in Domestic violence, mental health and addictions.

Wow, that was quite the surgery...what the heck were they doing....that cut went clear across your belly and looks very painful.  I did not understand the acronym you used to describe it.  I guess you are all healed up by now....lol.

I will go invite you as a friend so you can reply in my space if you so choose.....as my space is private.
Hope to see you around sometime!
