10월 10일 CAMPING TRIP - THANKSGIVING WEEKENDHello all,
As you all know, I went camping this weekend. All that were there were, Dave, Pat, Carol, Johnathan (carols fiance), Vicki, Becky, Kimmy, Chris, Me and we picked up Katherine on Saturday morning. The weather was great and except for some rowdy kids in the early mornings, we had a great time. We played bingo on Saturday night and Dominique won 15 bucks. She got 10 and pat and i split 5 dollars between the two of us. We had all the kids at the Club house and we all enjoyed ourselves that evening. The men stayed at the campsite and shared a few beers between themselves.
Friday evening - @ 11 p.m. arrived at campsite and set up. Immediately everyone went to bed when the trailer was set and the beds were made.
Saturday morning - Pat, Vicki and I went into town and picked Kat up for the weekend visit. It was a treat and a blessing for her to come with us. She looks good and smiles brightly as usual. But we sure do miss her being around us all the time. Glen, Kim and Dom showed up later in the day and that was really nice too. We had Scotty show up, but Pat, Vicki and I were still out to pick up Katherine. Sean showed up later in the evening. I slept for about 2 hours in the afternoon. Although I was well enough to go, the freshair and walking around really made me tired. Originally, Kim, Pat, Dom, Becky and I as well as Vicki went to bingo at the club house but the rest of the kids showed up to either play, read or watch. The kids really behaved and we enjoyed the evening immensely.
Sunday morning - Glen woke us up, we had bacon, eggs and toast for brekky. By 9 a.m. pat was already thinking and making the plans for starting supper. She had a 18 pound turkey and 10 pies to cook (altogether there was 11 people for supper)... MMMM the supper was absolutely delicious. I slept for a few hours because becky had me awake at 5:30 because she started screaming at Kimmy about not having any room in the bunk bed in the trailer... After pat, vicki and Kim cooked and dave and glen assisted, we finally had thanksgiving dinner after 9.5 hours of cooking and preperation. We had turkey, ham, candied yams, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots, dinner rolls, turnip, stuffing and pies upon pies. It was delicious and tasted great.
Sunday evening everyone went to bed early (by 11 p.m.)
Monday morning we had to pack up and get ready to leave. Sarah came to the campsite and made a very welcoming and awesome long time in waiting visit to us all. I was really happy to see her, she looks great. The trailer needed to be prepped for the winter months. We left the park by 1:30 p.m.
But we found out that there could be one more week of camping. YIPPPPEEEE, so the story will conitnue next week.
